This week blog we are going to be looking at Austin Post, better known as Post Malone. He is a rapper and singer. Best known from his past hits like his debut single "White Iverson", and "Congratulations", also his chart topping single "Rockstar" ft. 21 Savage, which was one of the biggest songs of 2017. With this hit single he was on his way to his second studio album. It being "Beer bongs and Bentleys", which was released on April 27 of this year. This album was a long time coming as Post announce this album for a long time ago. As he was riding of the success of his debut album "Stoney". Yet it wasn't until a couple weeks ago where he official announced the release date of the album. As he released another single which did great to hype up the album this being "Psycho" ft. Ty Dolla $ign. Which started the hype for the album, but did he deliver, and was it worth waiting for? Lets start of with the albums track list, we see a whole lot of new and old material as well, we see the aforementioned singles that he had already released. We can see appearances from the likes of 1/2 of Rae Sremmurd with Swae Lee, Nicki Minaj, YG, and G-Eazy. At 18 tracks, 1 of them being an interlude, with a length of 53 minutes, I believe this is perfect length for an album. Now getting to the album itself, I enjoyed the album for the most of it. Id have to admit I didn't really get the fact of incorporating old songs on this project as we see the song "Candy Paint" make an appearance, this song had already released, and I think was not needed in the album, in fact I think it was track that jus didn't make it to "Stoney" so they just put it in this album. With that aside most if not all the songs on the album are pretty good in my opinion. Some tracks that stood out more than others in my opinion would be "Over Now", "Sugar Wraith", and especially "Same Bitches" ft. G-Eazy, YG. I really enjoyed that song maybe because Im a G Stan but to me its just banger especially for the West Coast. Overall its a well done album, I would recommend to people who are trying to get in to Posts Music.

ReplyDeleteHonestly I didn't know he dropped an album until 3 days after the release but once I could I had it downloaded. I've always liked post's music. I'm more of a fan of his personality and style. He reminds me of someone like Tyler the creator because of how he just does what he wants without caring what the media will say. I've seen him guest spot on some of Ethan's (H3H3) podcast. He seems like a great dude. His album to me was nothing more then expected. It was great and is definitely a summer album.
