Migos Culture II

The Migos a trio rap group coming out of Atlanta, Georgia who their Grammy nominated for best rap album 'Culture' which released back in 2017 are trying to recreate there success with a new installment 'Culture II'. Which released on January 26 of this year. Their past album had some great hits which included T-Shirt, Slippery ft. Gucci Mane and probably one of their biggest hits to date Bad and Boujee ft. Lil Uzi Vert. Now lets see if this album that has been hyped up for months has lived up to its expectations. The anticipation started when they first dropped their first single off the album MotorSport ft. Nicki Minaj & Cardi B. On first listen the track is great but its no Bad and Boujee though. As the release date came closer they dropped two more songs Stir Fry and Supastars respectively. In my opinion Stir Fry is much better song then those other two. Now with the singles out of the way. The album in its entirety. Overall after giving the album a full in depth listen about 3 times. Which by the way its jam packed with 24 tracks with features that range from 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, Post Malone, Drake, 2 Chainz, and Travis Scott. All artist who have previously have worked with the group before. Now going down the list, track by track would take too long to review. I do got to admit not all of the songs in the album are bangers though. Some songs that did stood out to me out of the rest would be Walk It Talk It ft. Drake,  BBO ft. 21 Savage, Too Playa ft. 2 Chainz, along others. When listening to the album you can get lost within the trackless because there are just too many songs. Some might say thats a good thing others might not, Id have to say its a bad thing for me because a song would just pass by without me noticing it. Meaning it wouldn't be a good song. But that would make those songs that stand out much better. Overall the album is a good listen I wouldn't recommend it to everyone though. It does drag on a bit by the end of the album. If they had taken some tracks out it would've been a better listen. I doubt this album gets to the success as did the first installment but that doesn't deny the fact thats its still good album. A good album to start of 2018.

  1. Albums aren't just the same anymore. I think they were trying to follow Chris Brown's lead based upon his latest album, "Heartbreak on a Full Moon" which has 45 songs. Maybe it is too many songs. The only song that grasps my attention is Motorsport. I think the song relied heavily on the female features. Culture had more bangers.
